Krag van God - (Engelse reeks)

Aanbieder: Jared Smith

Message 1: The Power of God – But Now …
Romans 1-3. In these chapters Paul systematically unpacks the problem of sin. This reaches a climax in 3:20 where Paul says that “by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight.” However, in verse 21 we see two of the most significant words in the book of Romans “But now…” With these two words Paul introduces the radical change that has come now that Jesus has stepped onto center stage. We were lost in our sins, but now… Jesus.

Message 2: The Power of God – Justified by Faith
Romans 3:21-4:25. After setting the stage in message #1 we will now unpack 6 amazing truths that have come as a result of Jesus’ death upon the cross. The first of these is that we are justified by faith.

Message 3: The Power of God – We are Saved by Grace
Romans 5. Even though it is faith that gives us access to God’s justification, faith isn’t the active agent of salvation. It is God’s grace that saves us. This sermon will look at the grace of Jesus who loved us enough to die for us, even when we were his weak, ungodly, sinful enemies.

Message 4: The Power of God – Obedient by Worship
Romans 6. If we have been saved by grace through faith, why does it matter how we live? This sermon will show that true obedience is an act of worship. Paul instructs us to first believe that God has declared us righteous and secondly to offer our lives to God as an act of worship.

Message 5: The Power of God – Covered by Jesus
Romans 7. This sermon will look at the battle with sin that continues to wage in the life of every believer. However, in the midst of the battle, we can be reassured that “there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1).

Message 6: The Power of God – Set Free by Patience
Romans 8:1-30. This sermon examines the topic of glorification. Even though God’s victory over sin has been won, we still live with the awful reality of sin’s presence. This sermon calls us to persevere as we look forward to a world made new and the end of the horrors of sin.

Message 7: The Power of God – Secured by Love
Romans – 8:26-31. In this sermon we will be unpacking the glorious climax of the book of Romans. In this sermon we will be encouraged that the Spirit, the Son and the Father are all on our side and are working for our salvation. “He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:32.

Message 8: The Power of God – Faith by Hearing
Romans 10. Having now unpacked 6 glorious truths about the gospel we will look at our responsibility to share this with the world. As we unpack Romans 10 we will be challenged by Paul’s questions: “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
